The United States of America at 250: Life, Religious Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
As the U.S. celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, we especially note its remarkable claims for human freedom. Together with the Constitution and Bill of Rights, it has led to the promotion and protection of the independent moral agency of all God’s children.
This conference, “Life, Religious Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness,” examined how religious freedom, equality, and moral agency have fared throughout U.S. History. Building on their varied experiences throughout history, we considered where we are now and where we can go from here.
