Mohammed Dejen Assen

Dr. Mohammed Dejen Assen is an assistant professor at the College of Law and Governance Studies of Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia. He obtained a BA degree in history in 2000, an MA in 2009, and a PhD in 2016 in federalism and governance studies from Addis Ababa University. He also received an LLB in law from Mekelle University in 2012. His research interests include but are not limited to the following: the interaction between law and religion, religion and human rights, federalism, minority rights, secularism, politics and governance in Africa, ethnicity and identity politics in Ethiopia, youth unemployment and youth-government interactions in Africa/Ethiopia. He has published journal articles and book chapters on a number of issues.
