Mariah Nuttall Externship Experience

Mariah Nuttall is one of our 2025 Summer Fellows. She was raised in Portland, Oregon, graduated from BYU with a Bachelors in Political Science and a minor in music, and previously served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the San Juan Puerto Rico Mission, where she learned Spanish. Here is what she said about her time in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic:

“My time in the Dominican Republic was an educational, rewarding experience. I had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside expert attorneys on the most beautiful part of the Caribbean and learn more about civil law systems and corporate compliance. My time there had the perfect blend of hands-on legal work for countries throughout the Caribbean, accompanying court hearings, immigration appointments, and deal closings with local attorneys, and learning the history of the island. I was so blessed to have this opportunity to learn more about international legal systems and become a better future attorney.”
