St. John’s Center for Law and Religion – Laïcité Conference in Paris

A roundtable conference, “Laïcité in Comparative Perspective,” was held at the Paris campus of St. John’s University on 11 June 2010. The conference focused on contemporary issues of laïcité in France and comparative perspectives on religion-state relationships. The Conference, organized by Professor Mark Movsesian and including scholars from France, the United States, Italy, and Spain, was the inaugural conference of the Center for Law and Religion of St. John’s University School of Law. Conference proceedings will be published in the St. John’s Journal of Catholic Legal Studies.
