Member, Good Faith Partnership; Member, House of Lords
Having previously worked for the Salvation Army and founded a charity delivering innovative community services in disadvantaged communities, Russell Rook OBE went on to serve as a parliamentary aide to Baroness Sherlock of Durham in the House of Lords. He served on the Labour Welfare team in Parliament before becoming an advisor on faith and civil society to the then-leader of the opposition, Ed Miliband MP. As a partner at the Good Faith Partnership, a social consultancy helping leaders from different sectors to design creative solutions to society’s more intractable problems, Dr. Rook leads the RAMP Project, a cross-party initiative seeking to transform the immigration debate in the UK. He worked with government and civil societies to help co-construct the Community Sponsorship Scheme for Refugees. Dr. Rook also serves as the chair of Reset, a new charity that builds the capacity of local communities to welcome and integrate refugees across the UK, and he regularly works with the Global Refugee Sponsorship Initiative, helping other countries to develop sponsorship programs. In January 2025, Dr. Rook entered the House of Lords as Reverend Lord Rook of Wimbledon. He lives in Southwest London with his wife, Charlotte, who is a professional cellist, and their two teenage sons, Joe and Toby.
