The Pew Research Center recently released findings about the the Catholic church in Europe during the papacy of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, who swore to combat secularization when he was elected in 2005. The findings showed that there was no evidence that Catholicism was seeing a notable resurgence of faith among Catholics in Europe’s largest centers of Catholicism. The report also provides information on views about the importance of religion, frequency of prayer, and mass attendence.
