Professor Durham Addresses Belgian Senate

 On July 10, 2008, Professor Cole Durham addressed Belgium’s Senate in a colloquium on the subject of independently monitoring religious freedom and discrimination. The conference, entitled “Church & State and Religious Freedom in the 21st Century: How can Religion contribute to Peace and Security? Emerging Religions and Educational Challenges,” is intended to address the growing presence of Islam in Europe and the relationship between Church and State in the 21st Century, among other issues. The colloquium was organized by Senator Filip Anthuenis and Professor Rik Torfs and also included speakers from the UK, Turkey, Poland and Belgium.
