Liam Smith

Liam Smith is from Sandy, Utah. He received his bachelor’s degree in American studies with a minor in African studies from BYU and is currently pursuing a joint JD/MPA degree at BYU. Before starting the joint program, he worked as an intern at the US Mission to the United Nations in the Office of Management and Reform. 

Liam has worked and interned in several different capacities throughout the African continent, including most recently as an intern for the Office of General Counsel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Johannesburg, South Africa. He also served as a missionary for the Church in Madagascar. Liam has been involved with the Center as a Student Research Fellow since April 2019. He and his wife Shaila have two children.
