Lebogang Mmakganya Modiba

Lebogang Mmakganya Modiba has been a judge of the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, since 2016 and a judge of the Electoral Court of South Africa since 2021. She is the former president of the Special Tribunal of South Africa (2022–2024) and acted as a justice of the Supreme Court of Appeal, South Africa, from December 2024 to May 2025. She holds a B Proc Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (1995), a master of law degree in human rights and constitutional practice from University of Pretoria (1997), and a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University (2005). While attending Harvard, she was an Edward Mason Fellow. Judge Modiba is married to Samuel (Sami) Modiba, a practicing attorney, and together they were blessed with two children. As devout Christians, they actively seek the manifest presence of God and endeavor to fulfill His divine will in their personal and professional lives.
