Kwaku Agyeman-Budu

Dean, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration

Kwaku Agyeman-Budu is a lawyer and a legal academic. Since January 2013 he has been teaching various law courses at the Faculty of Law of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra, Ghana. Dr. Kwaku holds bachelor’s degrees in art and law from the University of Ghana and a qualifying certificate in law from the Ghana School of Law. He also has a master’s degree in international law and justice and a doctor of juridical science degree from Fordham University School of Law in New York City. A senior law lecturer, he was formerly head of law centers at the GIMPA Law School, where he oversaw the management of the African Center of International Criminal Justice and the African Center on Law and Ethics. On 1 September 2022, he was appointed dean of the GIMPA Law School, becoming the youngest dean of law in the history of Ghana. Dr. Kwaku’s research interests include constitutional law, intellectual property law, international human rights law, and international criminal law and justice.
