Gayla & Ferril Sorenson

Gayla graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Accounting and earned her J.D. at BYU Law. She was an associate at Lewis & Roca in Phoenix, was a Vice-President in the Law Department of Motorola, Inc., and served as Dean of Admissions, Dean of External Relations and Executive Director for the Clark Law Society at BYU Law. Public service has included leadership roles in the Northeast Indiana League of Women Voters and as a Senior Fellow for the ICLRS. She and Ferril recently completed their service in the Indianapolis temple presidency, and they are currently team teaching Seminary.

Ferril graduated from BYU with a Master’s in Accounting. His career focused on internal audit and ethics. He held executive positions as VP of Internal Audit with industry leaders such as Mallinckrodt, Applied Biosystems and Bioment, Inc. Global responsibilities created a great love of many countries and cultures. Ferril has been actively involved in building interfaith relationships and planning interfaith events. A year after his first wife passed away in 2005, Ferril flew 2500 miles to meet Gayla for a blind date, and they were married in 2007. They joyfully share his four children, their spouses, and sixteen grandchildren.
