Gay and Catholic: more and more homosexuals fight rejection by the Catholic Church in Brazil

The number of homosexuals who are active members of the Catholic Church in Brazil has increased in the past years. In a recent interview, gays and lesbians talk about how some priests are more welcoming than others but feel limited by their fear of retaliation from the church. The Rio group ‘Catholic Diversity’ fights the rejection of lesbians, gays, bissexuals and transgenders by holding weekly meetings in which they discuss teachings of the Catholic Church and read the Bible together.
