Discrimination or economy? Portugal cancels two national religious holidays

On 8 May 2012, Portugal confirmed the cancellation of four out of the fourteen national holidays staring in 2013. Two of the holidays are Catholic: All Saints Day (November 1st) and Corpus Christi (60 days after Easter). The Portuguese government explained the measure was taken to fight the financial crisis the country is going through and promote more worked hours.
