David Nearon attended Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania from 1958-1960 and received a BS in finance in 1961 from the University of California at Berkeley. He attended the University of San Francisco Law School, receiving a Juris Doctorate in 1964. David worked for the Estate Tax Division of the Internal Revenue Service in San Francisco from 1964 to 1967. From 1967 to 1975, he was a Captain in the Army JAG reserve. David received a MS Degree in Business from San Jose State University in 1965 and he worked for the Santa Barbara law firm of Price, Postel and Parma from 1967 to 1969. He was a partner in the Walnut Creek, CA firm of Anderson & Nearon from 1969 to 1980. From 1980 to summer 2008, David had a law practice, David A. Nearon, A Professional Law Corporation with his son, David A. Nearon, Jr. On July 1, 2008, he became an LDS Church Service Volunteer as the Associate Area Legal Counsel for the Europe East Area headquartered in Moscow, Russia. David became a PLC member and ICLRS member in 2003.
Linda Nearon grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah in 1964 with a degree in History and Political Science, with Secondary Teaching Credentials. Linda worked on a Master’s Degree at San Jose State University and in The Hoover Institution in the Publications Department at Stanford University. Linda married David Nearon in 1967, and raised four children in the San Francisco Bay Area. She taught school in the Dablo Unified School District in the 1990’s. In the late 1990’s Linda was a docent for Paleontology and Anthropology at the University of California in Berkeley. Linda’s passion is oil painting. She is an award-winning artist and most recently won the Merit Award in Landscaping in Salon International 2008. Linda has been on the International Advisory Council of the International Center for Law and Religion Studies for the past five years. She is currently serving an LDS Service Mission in Moscow, Russia.
