Danielle J. Forrest

Danielle J. Forrest is a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit based in Portland, Oregon. Before joining the federal bench in 2019, she was a state trial judge in Oregon, where she served as the chief civil judge and the presiding judge. Judge Forrest graduated summa cum laude from the University of Idaho College of Law. She clerked for Judge Paul J. Kelly Jr. of the Tenth Circuit, Judge Michael W. Mosman of the US District Court in Oregon, and Judge Diarmuid F. O’Scannlain of the Ninth Circuit. Judge Forrest practiced commercial litigation in Portland, and she has taught advanced civil procedure and litigation skills as an adjunct professor at Lewis & Clark Law School.
