Amy Griffin is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in family studies. Raised in Highland, Utah, Amy grew up playing the piano and working with cameras. She served a mission in the Poland Warsaw Mission. Amy has conducted original research for an honors thesis on the portrayal of women in media and its impact on local elections. She anchors and reports for the university broadcast news and conducts research under Dr. Sarah Coyne on the LGBTQ+ LDS population’s experience in the church. Amy is a John Roberts Lewis Scholar at the Faith and Politics Institute in Washington, D.C. and the recipient of the Annaley Naegle Redd Student Award in Women’s History at BYU. Amy enjoys writing, creating, and being outdoors with her husband, Garrett, and dog, Scooter.
