Abdirahman Ismail, OGW, Executive Director, Inter-Religious Council of Kenya

Abdirahman Ismail is the executive director of the Inter-Religious Council of Kenya. He was named to the Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya by the nation’s president for his dedication and distinguished service championing international diplomacy and peace in the region. Ismail has played a critical role in promoting peace and cohesion in Kenya, especially during the 2022 general elections. He has championed and steered interfaith dialogues in the country, in the greater region of which it is a part, and through international platforms. Ismail is an accomplished economist statistician with more than two decades of experience in economic diplomacy, development cooperation, regional integration, development policy, and governance.
