Ronald Yomelfy Portillo Cordón

Ronald Portillo is a Guatemalan congressman serving in the 10th Legislature (2024–2028) and a distinguished legal professional in the public sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree in legal and social sciences, graduating cum laude, and is a certified attorney and notary. His academic background includes a master’s degree in public administration from Universidad Galileo, a master’s degree in management with a specialization in entrepreneurship from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, as well as an LLM in finance from Universidad Francisco Marroquín. He has held key positions within Guatemala’s Ministry of the Interior, notably serving as Third Deputy Minister for the Prevention of Violence and Crime, Executive Director IV of Community Violence Prevention, and technical secretary for the national policy on life. He has also served as a congressional advisor from 2017 to 2018. His commitment to Guatemala has been recognized for its impact in violence prevention, youth development, and academic excellence, combining technical expertise with a deep sense of public service.
