Cem Murat Sofuoğlu completed his law studies at the Istanbul University Faculty of Law. After his graduation in 1984, he began working as a lawyer registered by the Istanbul Bar Association, and he has been working as a freelance lawyer for 41 years. He has written numerous newspaper and magazine articles on law, literature, and history, some of which have been published abroad. He has also translated books and magazines. He speaks English and French fluently and is moderately fluent in Italian.
