Jeremy Patrick

Jeremy Patrick has studied and taught law in the United States, Canada, and Australia. As a senior lecturer in the University of Southern Queensland School of Law and Justice, he developed and teaches a course on alternative approaches to legal scholarship. His scholarship draws upon legal history, comparative law, and legal realism and focuses primarily on the areas of constitutional law and law and religion. His monographs and edited collections include Beyond Doctrine: Alternative and Critical Approaches to Law in Australia (Federation Press, 2025), The Impact of Law’s History: What’s Past Is Prologue (Palgrave MacMillan, 2022), Faith or Fraud? Fortune-Telling, Spirituality, and the Law (UBC Press, 2020), and Constitutional Recognition of First Peoples in Australia: Theories and Comparative Perspectives (Federation Press, 2016). Dr. Patrick is a founding coeditor of the Australian Journal of Law and Religion.
