Joseph Castro

Joseph Castro grew up across the United States in New York, Idaho, and California. After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Manchester, England, he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from BYU. 

As an undergraduate student, Joseph entered an essay contest and was published for his essay addressing the history of religious persecution in the United States. His researched piqued his interest in religious freedom, which ultimately led him to become involved with the International Center for Law and Religion Studies. This summer he served as one of the Center’s fellows in Frankfurt, Germany, and researched tax law relating to religious organizations. Joseph and his wife Mary have an eighteen-month old daughter who constantly keeps them on their toes. A fan of Star Wars and comic books, Joseph enjoys spending his free time playing the piano and finding the best-tasting hamburgers and sodas in Utah Valley.
